Meet the Red Line Ambassadors

Red Line Ambassadors are liaisons between the project team and the community. The project corridor has four segments, and an ambassador represents each. Doris Duren is the Baltimore County ambassador, Reverend Anthony Brown and Carl Williams are the Interim West Baltimore ambassadors, Rochelle Carpenter is the Downtown core ambassador, and Marco V. Ávila, P.E. is the Southeast Baltimore ambassador. Each plays a crucial role in helping the project team better understand community needs, concerns, character, priorities, and topics that are of importance to community members in context of the Red Line. Their role is vital in ensuring that the project aligns with the needs and aspirations of the communities they serve. Their responsibilities include neighborhood/community canvassing, attending community meetings and events, responding to questions about the Red Line, identifying engagement opportunities for the project team, volunteering, and other meaningful outreach and engagement activities to know the communities in their segments better. By engaging with a diverse group of stakeholders and meeting people where they are, they create a more inclusive and effective outreach strategy. This approach helps to ensure that the project addresses the needs and concerns of the entire community and leaves no one behind.
